Terms of sale

About these terms
In these terms, “we” means Roughneck Cable and “you” means the person or business placing the order. They apply to every order placed on this site.
Prices
Prices are in US dollars. Delivery, and sales tax where it applies, are added at checkout, and the total is shown before you pay.
The price that applies is the one shown when you place your order. If a price is shown in error, we will tell you before dispatch and you can cancel for a full refund.
Orders and stock
We accept your order when we send the order confirmation email. Stock on the site is kept up to date, but if we cannot supply a reel you ordered, we will tell you and refund or cancel that part of the order in full.
Payment
If you pay by card, the card is charged when you place the order. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and your card details go to Stripe without passing through our systems.
If you choose invoice, we email an invoice after you order. Pay it by bank transfer with your order number as the reference. Your reels ship once the payment reaches us. If an invoice stays unpaid, we may cancel the order after letting you know.
Delivery
Reels ship from the USA. We aim to dispatch in-stock reels on the business day your payment reaches us, if it arrives by 12 pm. We deliver to the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia. Dispatch and delivery dates given by us or the carrier are estimates.
Full reels weigh up to 370 lb. Make sure there is a safe way to unload them, and put anything the driver needs to know in the delivery instructions.
The reels are at your risk once they are delivered. They become yours once we have been paid in full.
Check the reels when they arrive. Note any visible damage on the carrier’s paperwork, and tell us within 7 days of delivery about damage, missing reels or the wrong rope.
Returns
If a reel is faulty or is not what you ordered, we will replace it or refund you, and we pay the return freight.
If you change your mind, contact us before sending anything back. We accept unused, undamaged reels returned within 30 days of delivery. You pay the return freight, and the original delivery charge is not refunded.
Choosing and using the rope
Minimum breaking loads on this site are for new rope under a straight pull. The load a rope can safely carry in use depends on its terminations, sheaves, condition and the design factor for the job. You are responsible for choosing rope suited to your use, installing it correctly and inspecting it in service. Where rope will lift loads or protect people, have it specified by a competent person under the standard that applies to the work.
Your rights
Except as these terms state, and to the extent the law allows, the rope is sold without implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Some states do not allow implied warranties to be excluded, and where that is so, this exclusion does not apply to you.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or downtime, and our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. This does not limit any right that the law says cannot be limited.
